TOWER DUNES POOL HOUSE BLUE MOUNTIAN BEACH, FLORIDA
The pool house is the center of community activity for a new, traditionally planned, pedestrian-oriented neighborhood. Conceived as a compound, the community amenities are clustered to create a place. Rather than fenced, the pool is walled at the compound’s perimeter, with access through gated portals. The pools step up the site following natural grade, minimizing the height of the perimeter wall in a friendly way. Above the tree line, the observation tower affords panoramic views of the Gulf of Mexico to the south. The materials are chosen to minimize maintenance in this salty corrosive environment. The walls are unpainted stucco on masonry. The roof structure is galvanized steel and stained wood.
